We Still Have Church Because…
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.” – (Hebrews 10:25)
I could give you reasons all day why we have church, but here are four that I know will stand.
1) Because God Hasn’t Changed
“For I am the Lord, I change not: therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” – (Malachi 3:6)
- a) God’s standards are still the same
- b) God’s security (i.e. promises) will not run out
2) Because God is Still in Charge
(Luke 8: 22-56)
- a) Daily storms must obey Him (vs 22-25)
- b) Demons are subject to Him (vs 26-40)
- c) Disease must flee from His touch (vs 43-48)
- d) Death cannot stay in His presence (vs 49-56)
3) Because God Still Cares
“Casting all your care upon him for he careth for you.” – (I Peter 5:7)
- a) For the sinner
- b) For the saint
4) Because Jesus is Still Coming
“Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God believe also in me, In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” – (John 14: 1-3)
- a) Peace given by God (vs 1)
- b) Place prepared by God (vs 2)
- c) People of God (vs 3)
